World Wrestling Entertainment
Edge won the WWE championship (RAW title) from John Cena during the New Year's Revolution PPV (01.08.06). Kurt Angle (a RAW wrestler) won the world heavyweight championship (Smackdown title) during a thirty-man over-the-rope match, after Dave Batista surrendered the title due to an injury (Smackdown, 01.13.06).

More than wrestling, what has been in everybody's mind regarding the WWE has been Lita's breasts exposed when she and Edge were celebrating that he won the WWE championship under the sheets in a bed in the middle of the ring (RAW, 01.09.06). The WWE has pulled some vulgar and stupid tricks before, but the reaction to this accident is silly. The USA Network blacked out the video signal while she put a shirt on.

Fit Finlay, who was one of the best wrestlers of WCW, had worked in the WWE behind the scenes for several years. He finally made his debut as a WWE wrestler (Smackdown, 01.20.06). He is as brutal as ever.

On 01.24.06, CBS and Time Warner announced that UPN (a CBS channel) and WB (a Time Warner channel) will merge this fall. This means that many shows might be dropped and this means that the WWE might need to look for a new channel to air Smackdown.

Total Non-Stop Action
The biggest story in TNA is the return of Steve "Sting" Bordon (Final Resolution PPV, 01.15.06). He had not been on television since March 2001 (the last WCW Nitro in Panama City, FL). He finally returned to television to thank Ric Flair who he defeated for the NWA world heavyweight title in 1990 to him and to say goodbye (Impact, 01.28.06). This is strange when Sting signed a one-year contract with TNA.

As expected, BG James (formerly known as "The Road Dogg" Jesse James) and Kip James (formerly known as Billy Gunn or "Mr Ass") are back as a tag team now known as James Gang.

Prime Time Wrestling
The following are the results for the Sunday 01.22.06 show at the Diamondback Saloon in Belleville, MI. Before the start of the night’s card, PTW promoter "Big" Dave Martin introduced Bobby "The Brain" Heenan as the new General Manager of Prime Time Wrestling. TNA Team Canada member Petey Williams defeated Phil Atlas with a sharpshooter, after outside interference by Traci Brooks. Eddie Venom and Jon Bolen defeated Brad Martin and El Reverso. Gutter defeated N8 Mattson by pinfall after Gutter executed a variation of a neckbreaker. Bobby Roode got a pinfall victory over a battered Kennedy with a bulldog. Chris Sabin defeated Alex Shelley with a Cradle Shock. Even after taking two chair shots, Abyss defeated A-1 after Irish-whipping A-1 into a chair set up in the corner and into a Black Hole slam. Samoa Joe defeated "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels with the Kokina Cluch. Petey Williams defeated Chris Sabin after delivering an amazing running Canadian Destroyer finisher. "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown defeated Rhino after nailing him with the championship belt for the PTW heavyweight title after interference by Abyss. After the match, PTW promoter Dave Martin said he calls the shots around here, and ordered Brown to defend his title against both Rhino and Abyss in a triple-threat match at the next Belleville show, 04.30.06.

Real Pro Wrestling
RPW now has some matches of Season One via iTunes.

Wrestling Society X on MTV (Uh?)
If anyone cares, the channel that once meant music videos and music shows, will now get into wrestling. MTV will have its own wrestling promotion (Wrestling Society X) in the near future.
