Vince McMahon fired Eric
Bischoff after a public trial. This storyline finished with McMahon carrying
Bischoff and placing him in the back of a garbage truck. Since Bischoff was
fired publicly (RAW, 12.05.05), it most likely indicates that Bischoff will take
some time off. When the WWE fires some one, it is usually done quietly.
The WWE has decided not to
use Ric Flair until his legal situation
is cleared. This might be a cheap excuse to fire him in order for the WWE to
save face if Flair's case blows out of proportion.
The WWE released Christy
Hemme after spending a ridiculous amount of time and money to promote her and
Playboy pictorial. She has moved to Ohio Valley Wrestling to continue her
wrestling training. Another wrestler who has been released from his contract
(in good terms at least) is Tajiri who wanted to spend more time with his family
in Japan according to reports.
Like in the past two years
(2003 and
2004), the WWE
has gone to the Middle East to celebrate the holidays with the armed forces
stationed in Afghanistan, not Iraq like in the past two years. Although RAW was
taped in Afghanistan on 12.09.05, it will air on 12.19.05. Read the following
press release sent by Sergeant Sara Wood of the American Forces Press Service
(edited).
WASHINGTON, Dec. 19, 2005 -
The World Wrestling Entertainment RAW TV show will feature a special
"Tribute to the Troops" program tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern time on the
USA Network.
WWE chairman Vince McMahon
and WWE RAW superstars recently returned from their "Tribute to the
Troops" tour of Afghanistan, where they met with thousands of men and women
in the U.S. military
carrying the message "America Supports You,"
according to a WWE news release.
"Monday Night RAW:
Tribute to the Troops" will feature matches between WWE superstars held at
a special RAW taped on Dec. 9 at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, in front of 4,000
servicemembers. The program will show the interaction of the WWE superstars with
the troops as they toured forward operating bases on the front lines, according
to the release.
Rey Mysterio and Batista won
the WWE tag team titles from MNM (Smackdown, 12.16.05).
During this month's PPV
(Armageddon, 12.18.05), Kid Kash defeated Juventud for the cruiserweight
championship. Paul "Big Show" Wight and Kane (RAW champions) defeated
Rey Mysterio and Batista (Smackdown champions). The Undertaker defeated Randy
Orton in a Hell in a Cell match.
Vince McMahon plugged the new
Bret Hart DVD, released by the WWE (RAW, 12.26.05). It is hard to tell what is
real and what is not. There is still some bad blood between Bret Hart and Vince
McMahon as result of Survivor Series 1997 when McMahon helped Shawn Michaels win
the WWE world title.
Total Non-Stop Action
TNA is slowly reviving hardcore
wrestling. Raven and the Diamonds in the Rough (Simon Diamond, Elix Skipper and
David Young) had a House of Fun match between Raven and the Diamonds in the
Rough (Simon Diamond, Elix Skipper and David Young). During the match all
wrestlers used weapons from trash cans to bats in a classic ECW fashion (Impact,
12.03.05). Part of this stupid storyline has Larry Zbyszko trying to force
Raven to sign his release from his TNA contract. During the Turning Point PPV
(12.11.05), Raven defeated Chris Kanyon (now simply known as Chris K) in a
classic hardcore match and Sabu defeated Abyss in a barbed wire match.
During the Turning Point PPV
(12.11.05), Team Canada defeated the 4Live Kru. Konnan attacked Kip James
(Billy Gunn in the WWE) and BG James (Road Dogg in the WWE) after losing the
match with Team Canada. Christian Cage defeated Monty Brown. Team 3D defeated
the NWA World Tag Team Champions, America’s Most Wanted. Samoa Joe defeated AJ
Styles to win the X-Division title. Jeff Jarrett defeated Rhino holding on to
the NWA World Heavyweight title. Now the match, I would like to see is Samoa Joe
against Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight title, but I don't that it
will happen any time soon.
Sting has signed a one-year
contract with TNA and will be part of the Final Resolution PPV (01.15.06).
National Wrestling Alliance
The following was sent by
NWA regarding the NWA European Champion to be be crowned in 2006. The first ever
NWA European Champion in the 57 year history of the National Wrestling Alliance
will be crowned in 2006. This new title has been sanctioned by the National
Wrestling Alliance and details of where and when the first NWA European Champion
will be crowned will be released in the upcoming months. This new title will
represent the whole continent of Europe and there are high hopes that it will
become a very strong and highly regarded title within the NWA and throughout the
world. There will be no weight class for this title so any competitor who is up
to the necessary standard of toughness, skill and ability will be eligible to
challenge for this title. The focus' of the title will be shoot/submission based
wrestling combined with the traditional technical style of British and European
wrestling as well as a hard hitting stiff style of wrestling. Therefore anybody
who holds this new title will have to be a very skilled all round wrestler and
will without doubt, through the styles of wrestling outlined, earn their right
to wear this new title. This title will be built and developed primarily around
the continent of Europe as well as being defended and showcased around the
world.
The following are the results
for the NWA VA show on 12.03.05 in Sugar Grove, VA. Mike Vaughn pinned Chris
Dramin. Big Tony pinned Sean Callaway in a lumberjack match. Midnight Mauler and
Eddie Bruiser pinned Sexxy Kevina and "Mr. Ambigious" Jamie Jannetty.
Tommie Smallz pinned Grail to capture the NWA VA Jr Heavyweight title. UNOD
fought the Xtreme Outlaws to a draw to retain the NWA North American Tag Team
Titles. Stan Lee pinned Tracy Smothers with the help of the Sexxy One to retain
the MECW Heavyweight Title.
