Some Random Thoughts
Eddie Guerrero (1967-2005) Eduardo "Eddie" Gory Guerrero died at the age of 38 on 11.13.05 of an apparent heart failure in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Both the WWE and TNA have paid tribute to the former WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero (1967-2005). Guerrero also held titles in ECW and WCW. The low-riders will be missed.

World Wrestling Entertainment
The WWE started the month with the Tabboo Tuesday PPV (11.01.05). Joey Styles, the voice of ECW, joined the WWE calling the action. Paul "Big Show" Wight and Kane won the world tag team championship from Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. Ric Flair defeated Triple H in a cage match.

Since the WWE is not making any revenue on the advertisements sold during any of its shows, the WWE does not the extra income to give out lucrative contracts as it used to. Some wrestlers have opted not to accept the new contracts given by the WWE. Chris Jericho is taking a break from wrestling. Christian (now known as Christian Cage) signed with TNA. Chris Benoit is said to be considering his new contract.

The WWE dedicated both shows taped on 10.13.05 to Eddie Guerrero. RAW (aired on 10.14.05) and Smackdown (aired on 10.18.05) were mere hours after Eddie's death. RAW (aired on 10.14.05) started with a video collage of highlights of Eddie Guerrero's life with the Johnny Cash version of the Nine Inch Nails classic Hurt (recorded by Johnny Cash months before his own death). All matches were between RAW and Smackdown wrestlers. Most wrestlers wore black arm bands with the initials EG and were at brink of crying, even tough guys like Jean-Paul "Triple H" Levesque and Paul "Big Show" Wight. Between matches, there were video clips of various wrestlers and WWE personalities remembering Eddie Guerrero.

Right after Eddie Guerrero's death, the WWE released new guidelines to control drug abuse for all WWE wrestlers. The WWE has tried not to give the impression that these two events are not related. The WWE even responded to accusations from the media that painted Guerrero's death as an overdose. The WWE could not have chosen a worse time to release its new guidelines that would allow the WWE to fire anyone found abusing drugs.

On 11.29.05, Ric Flair was arrested for road rage an other charges that may include assault, battery and injury to personal property charges in Charlotte, NC, as reported by thesmokingun.com.

Total Non-Stop Action
TNA also started November big with a two-hour primetime Impact (11.03.05) on SpikeTV. Team 3D defeated Team Canada. Petey Williams won the Ultimate X match to be the number one contender to the X-Division title, held by AJ Styles (Genesis PPV on 11.13.05). Jeff Jarrett defeated Rhino to win the NWA world heavyweight championship with some help from America’s Most Wanted.

Christian Cage (known in the WWE only as Christian) and the former ECW heavyweight champion Justin Credible (now known as PJ Polaco and previously known as Aldo Montoya in the WWF circa 1994) debuted in TNA during the Genesis PPV (11.13.05). During the PPV, several wrestlers made several small tributes to the late Eddie Guerrero who died earlier in the day. On the same event, Raven defeated PJ Polaco. 3Live Kru defeated Team Canada. "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown defeated Jeff Hardy to become the number one contender for the NWA world heavyweight title. Abyss defeated Sabu in a no disqualification match (remembering the old hardcore days of ECW). Team 3D and Rhino defeated Jeff Jarrett (the NWA world heavyweight champion) and America's Most Wanted (NWA world tag team champions).

Because no one in the WWE ever mentions TNA by name and vice versa, no one on a TNA show said what they felt about Eddie Guerrero's death. Nonetheless some people in the audience had Eddie Guerrero's signs during Impact (aired on 11.19.05, taped on 11.15.05).
