Some Random Thoughts
I could not make up my mind where to put the following news so I left it here. The following was sent by Tim Hipps, Special to American Forces Press Service. Army Sargent Iris Smith won a gold medal 09.30 in the women's 158.5-pound freestyle division of the 2005 World Wrestling Championships at Budapest, Hungary. Smith, a wrestler in the US Army World Class Athlete Program, defeated five-time world champion Kyoko Hamaguchi of Japan, 3-1, 1-1, 1-0, to become the new world champion in her weight class. Fellow Army wrestlers Staff Sargent Dremiel Byers and Sargent Tina George also competed in the tournament but did not advance into the medal rounds.

World Wrestling Entertainment
The WWE released Daniel Pruder from his Tough Enough prize contract and Marc Copani who better known as Muhammad Hassan (one of the most distasteful characters that the WWE has come out with). Surprisingly, Hassan's sidekick, Daivari, is still in the WWE.

The WWE and the USA Network have been promoting their new contract, which brings RAW back to the USA Network on 10.03.05 with a three-hour homecoming (the gimmick word for the promotion) show. For those who have been following the drama between the WWE, the USA Network and SpikeTV, the WWE dropped the contract with USA Network in favor of SpikeTV five years ago.

Total Non-Stop Action
TNA in SpikeTV SpikeTV is running advertisements for Impact (TNA), which scheduled to start on 10.01.05 at 11:00 PM, during RAW (WWE). SpikeTV will air RAW On Monday 09.26.05 and Impact on Saturday 10.01.05. At the same time, SpikeTV is pushing the Ultimate Fighter (UFC) as their main show on Mondays.

TNA has had no television programming this month. The footage that TNA recorded earlier this month will be used for Impact when it debuts on SpikeTV (10.01.05). TNA has also signed a contract with the Fight Network, a wrestling and mixed martial arts channel in Canada.

Jeff Jarrett became the NWA world heavyweight champion again on 09.15.05 at a BCW show in Canada.
