World Wrestling Entertainment
The material that the WWE is currently pushing is boring. I have been recording RAW and Smackdown for almost three months. I tend to fast forward to the whatever good matches they have and skip all the soap-opera drama. From a two-hour show, about 45 minutes is worth watching. The rest are long interviews that get boring quickly, eye candy and other soap-opera nonsense. There is better action in the Jerry Springer Show, which I record and watch every day without fast forwarding.

Ashley For those who cared about the Diva Search, Ashley Massaro (referred only by her first name) from New York won the competition (08.14.05, RAW). Ashley was introduced by Candice Michelle and Torrie Wilson (traded from Smackdown) and later attacked by Torri (08.22.05, RAW). The WWE might have decided to push Ashley as a wrestler and not keep her as aye candy after all.

This year's SummerSlam (08.21.05), was an extravaganza as usual. Hulk Hogan defeated Shawn Michaels and later shook his hand to end their short-lived feud. Chris Benoit won the US title from Orlando Jordan. Dave Batista defeated JBL holding on to the world heavyweight title. John Cena defeated Chris Jericho holding on to the WWE championship. The Undertaken lost his first SummerSlam match against Randy Orton who had some help from his dad, Cowboy Bob Orton. One thing that was weird was a shot of a "McMahon for President" bumper sticker.

The soap-opera continues in the WWE. Eric Bischoff is feuding with the WWE champion, John Cena. Bischoff has had Cena in several matches defending the title. Cena defeated Chris Jericho again the night after SummerSlam (08.22.05, RAW) holding on to the tile. Since Jericho lost, Bischoff fired him. At the same time, the WWE has started to push Kurt Angle to feud with Cena and becoming the the number one contender for the world title. There have been many rumors that Jericho was going to take some time off after SummerSlam and might return to action in several months either as a heel or not.

Since Matt Hardy returned to the WWE, he has not been selling as well as he did before leaving the in April. Since his return he has been feuding with Adam "Edge" Copeland. There is no angle between these two. They have been in real life feud because Amy "Lita" Dumas left Hardy for Copeland. The angle and real life feud is getting old. Many people still consider that Matt should have signed with TNA and reunite with his brother once again.

Total Non-Stop Action
The only important event in TNA as of late had been the Super X Cup tournament. In the last match of the tournament, Samoa Joe defeated AJ Styles (Sacrifice PPV, 08.14.05). Samoa Joe will get a shot at the X-Division title, currently held by X Champion "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels (maybe on the next PPV, Unbreakable scheduled for 09.11.05).

During the Sacrifice PPV (08.14.05), the NWA world heavyweight champion Raven and Sabu faced Jeff Jarrett and Rhino. Jarrett and Rhino won the match. Because Rhino pinned Raven, Rhino will get a shot at the NWA world heavyweight champion (most likely on the next PPV on 09.11.05).

It is somewhat of a bad taste for TNA to have next month's PPV on 09.11.05. Most people still remember the horror that New York City and the District of Columbia went through about four years ago. At the same time, most people still have to heal and having some fun might help.

It seems that TNA has stopped pushing syndication of their television programming and using the Xplosion name. Channel 94 of Time Warner Cable aired TNA programming under the name Impact on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 8:45 PM without commercials. TNA is scheduled to stop airing its shows on-line on 09.09.05 in order to take off two weeks to get ready for the Unbreakable PPV (09.11.05) and for the SpikeTV contract. By the way, SpikeTV started airing advertisements for TNA during WWE RAW (08.29.01). Impact is scheduled to start airing on SpikeTV on 10.01.05 at 11:00 PM (ET) after Ultimate Fighter 2.
