Some Random Thoughts
I had some issues that
urgently needed to be taken care of, but I am finally getting back on my feet.
For the latter reason, I didn't get a chance to update this website, but
Wrestling Journal is back alive with an updated look.
World Wrestling Entertainment
The WWE has pushed and tried
to sell three PPV events in less than seven weeks. The WWE is definitely a
wrestling monopoly, but unfortunately it can't sell a product (wrestling
matches) worth paying for. TNA seems to be the only excuse to pay for wrestling.
In the other hand, the WWE has also been busy selling the competition for the
new RAW Diva. The Diva competition has been dragging for several weeks. The
women in this competition have mocked at by the audience, rather than not been
greeted with cheers (RAW, 07.26.04).
Kurt Angle can't act. Every
wrestling fan knew that Angle wasn't hurt when The Big Show choke-slammed him
twenty-plus feet from the ground. Angle interfered in Eddie Guerrero's match for
the title (Smackdown, 07.15.04), currently held by John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL).
Angle was removed from his general manager position and placed back in the
active roster by Vince McMahon. Theodore Long has been assigned the new general
manager of Smackdown (07.29.04), who put Angle in a match with Eddie Guerrero
for SummerSlam.
RAW closed the month
(07.26.04) with two matches (very exciting for a change). One Battle Royal match
was for the number one contender for the heavyweight title, won by Randy Orton.
The other one was an Iron Man match (one hour) between Chris Benoit and Triple
H. Benoit kept his title and will face Orton at Summerslam.
Total Non-Stop Action
I have been watching both
Xplosion on Tuesdays (New York schedule) and Impact on Fridays in the past
couple of weeks. As I mentioned before,
TNA has the same feel as WCW, with some of the raw excitement of ECW. Impact
always has a the remaining time (ten minute limit) of the match at the top and
news running at the bottom of the screen. I am almost sure that the WWE will
steal this idea soon.
Jeff Jarrett and his family
own and manage TNA and have an agreement to use the NWA. It is no surprise that
he is the TNA heavyweight champion (recognized as the NWA heavyweight champion).
Don't get me wrong. "The King of the Mountain" Jeff Jarrett is a great wrestler
and business man. He even brags that he didn't allow Hogan and Austin into the
promotion (Impact, 07.16.04).
TNA also has some big names
in the sport like Ken Shamrock (side job from his UFC obligations), Jeff Hardy
who has been awarded a chance to win the heavyweight title (PPV, 07.21.04), Sabu
to feud with Raven (just like in ECW). When will Sting return to TNA? The
promotion is the competition or alternative that we (wrestling fans) wanted, but
not the WWE.
Border City Wrestling/primetime
The following results were
sent by Border City Wrestling/primetime Wrestling for the 07.18.04 at the
Diamondback Saloon in Belleville, Michigan.

Johnny Bravo and Matt

Alex Shelley came out to the

case of tennis elbow," and brought out Miyamoto to take his place against
A.J. Styles who picked up the win following the styles clash.
D'Lo Brown made his way to
the ring for the main event. Joe E. Legend then came out, and said everyone
needed a great Canadian athlete. Legend said no one deserves a title shot more
than he does, and said if there is anyone who deserves it more, to send them
out, which brought out Gangrel to the surprise of the crowd. Legend tried to get
on Gangrel's good side, saying he remembered when they teamed together a few
times while in WWE and suggested they take out D'Lo together. instead, both D'Lo
and Gangrel attacked legend and sent him packing. D'Lo brown defeated Gangrel to
capture the vacant BCW heavyweight title in a steel cage match. D'Lo made the
pin after a devastating sky high frog-splash off the top of the cage.
After the match, Dave Martin
came out to the ring. He laid out D'Lo with a clothesline, and said he was
delivering a message from "The Franchise" Shane Douglas. Big Dave told D'Lo that
Franchise says to keep "his" belt clean, because on 10.10.04, it will be his.

Adam Filangeri beat El
Reverso.
Ice and Shauna Doyle defeated
Jaime D and Shanaynay in a ladies contest. Jaime accidentally hit her partner
and she was not very forgiving. Shanaynay later slapped Jaime, and then snapped
her neck across the top rope. Ice picked her up and landed a sidewalk slam for
the win. Doyle, Ice and Shanaynay celebrated afterwards.
The Threat (N8 Mattson and
Eddie Venom) retained the BCW Tag Team Titles over D-Ray 3000 and Brad Martin.
Before the match, N8 told everyone that his regular partner, Truth Martini, was
not in attendance because he was "out with the ladies," and sent Venom to be his
partner.
Chris Sabin retained the BCW
TV Title against NWA-TNA Team Japan Superstar, Miyamoto. In the end, it was
Miyamoto aiming for Sabin but accidentally misting the referee. Sabin then was
able to pin him, but there was no ref to make the count. Miyamoto caught Sabin
with a piledriver, and a second ref finally slid in for a two-count. Sabin
pinned Miyamoto with the Cradleshock.
