Some Random Thoughts
Six years ago, "Ravishing" Rick Rude died of a heart attack.

World Wrestling Entertainment
So far this month, Stone Cold was fired and Jim Ross quit (sabbatical for both). Eric Bischoff is still one of the most hated persons in wrestling. Goldberg is now in the WWE and is feuding with The Rock. Jeff Hardy was fired and there are rumors of Matt Hardy quitting. Roddy "Rowdy" Piper is back. On top of all these events, the WWE still reports major monetary losses. The WWE is selling the Backlash PPV (04.27.03) with the return of Kevin Nash and Goldberg's first WWE fight. If the WWE wants to increase ratings or profits, wrestlers like Sting, Bret Hart and Jeff Jarrett should be hired or at least invited.

The Backlash PPV had one interesting result, Jazz winning the women's title. The Backlash PPV was another sham, nothing special. The WWE has been plagued with bad sales and poor ratings. The WWE seems to hold back on aggression (hardcore wrestling), which has been the key factor for ECW and now TNA to achieve a huge fan base. Fans want to see wrestlers bleeding unconsciously on the mat, not a three-hour soap opera with a $30 price tag.

Stone Cold is back. This time as the co-manager of RAW, as assigned by Linda McMahon. This is a nice way to exploit the hatred that many wrestlers and wrestling fans feel for Bischoff. This might be a desperate move to get Stone Cold's fans to watch WWE TV programming or come to venues. At least this will be exciting to watch.

Total Non-Stop Action
Lollipop Girl, TNA TNA has become what WCW was to the "old" WWF. Whenever a wrestler leaves the WWE, this wrestler can make a living at TNA. For example, Jeff Hardy (fired by the WWE) is now wrestling at TNA.

As expected, TNA has grown and its quality is better that anything ECW was ever able to achieve in almost one third of the time. It feels like WCW in the early 1990's. Perhaps most of the people behind the cameras in WCW are now in TNA.

One thing that TNA has done better than four generations of WWE, ECW and WCW is using girls as eye-candy to kill TV time. One of these girls is Lollipop Girl (on the right).
